These falls on the north side of Katoomba take some effort to get to, but are so worth the walk, steps and stairs to access the base of the falls, plus, they have one of the biggest and deepest plunge pools on the mountains, making them a very popular swimming spot when it is warmer.
You can access these falls and the many cascades along the way from the end of Minni Ha Ha Rd and park at the reserve at the end, the walk in to the falls is approx 1.3kms, all downhill, lots of rough track in places with exposed roots and rocks to deal with, then there are the steps, then the stairs to reach the gully floor below. Your first look at the falls from above is pretty special, as you have been hearing the falls for a few minutes but not able to see them.
Once at the bottom of the falls, take care swimming in the pool, I believe a lot of the edges of the pool are undercut and the depth varies, so be careful. Stunning when they have a good flow on and so worth the walk in and out. You just may end up sharing the falls with a lot of other people, is all. No fences on the way down, so watch small children.
