Govetts Leap is the tallest single drop falls in the Blue Mountains at approx 161mtrs in height and in full flow is just spectacular! There are a number of vantage points to view these falls from, all starting at Evans Lookout, just go to the lookout and cast your eyes right.
Assistant Surveyor William Govett sighted them at the beginning of June in 1831 and reported them to then Surveyor General Thomas Mitchell. Mitchell gave them the name them Govett's Leap or Cataract. (A leap is a scottish name for a waterfall)
One of the most popular waterfalls to visit in the Blue Mountains as it is a short walk from your car to some of the best views in all of the Blue Mountains.
